BMX Flatland World Cup

Today Glasgow hosts the opening of cycling's biggest ever global event.

The UCI Cycling World Championships features 13 World Championship competitions in seven disciplines, all happening over the next 11 days.

Here at Zillo we know not everyone is into cycling… but you’ve got to admit, these BMX tricks are pretty cool! Hard work, determination, practice, eat, sleep, repeat is the recipe for success whatever your personal goals are.

The cyclists in Glasgow will compete in events including BMX Freestyle Flatland and Park, BMX Racing, Gran Fondo (road race), indoor cycling, Mountain Bike Cross-country and Cross-country Marathon, Mountain Bike downhill, Para-Cycling Track, Road race and Track. The organisers website says it is “the ultimate test of talent, tenacity and toughness.”

If you want to watch more BMX riders doing what has been described as a combination of parkour and breakdancing, coverage is on the BBC over the course of the competition.
